Die ICON Software GmbH hat inzwischen zwei weitere Sensoren für eine Prozessüberwachung von SAP HANA zur freien Verwendung freigegeben. Somit stehen insgesamt 6 PRTG-Sensoren für eine SAP-Basisüberwachung (ABAP, JAVA, HANA) kostenlos zur Verfügung.
Alternativ kann natürlich auch das EvaluationPack, bestehend aus den freien Sensoren sowie ca. 40 weiteren erprobten Sensoren aus der Praxis für 30 Tage angefordert werden. In Verbindung mit dem SAP-Profiler lassen sich die unterschiedlichsten Anforderungen (Basics, Monitoring, Workload und Datenbanken) auf einfachste Weise interaktiv für PRTG abbilden bzw. generieren.

In der Praxis hat sich z.B. eine DLL mit der Größenordnung 5,7 MB als tauglich erwiesen. Es kann jedoch sein, abhängig vom Betriebssystem, dass hierzu weitere DLL's erforderlich wären, diese lauten auf "MsVcp71.Dll", "MsVcr71.Dll", "MsVcp110.Dll" oder "MsVcr110.Dll". Gegebenenfalls wären auch diese im Installationsverzeichnis einzustellen.

Hierzu sind die entsprechenden Funktionen vom Profiler selbst unterstützt.
Soll der Profiler aktualisiert werden, so erfolgt dies vom Startbildschirm aus über den Bereich "Impressum". Besteht hierbei eine Internetverbindung so wird der Button "DnLd" angeboten. Hierbei wird der aktuelle Profiler unter dem Namen "Profiler.Exe" im beteiligten Verzeichnis eingestellt. Nach dem Download sollte der aktuell benützte wie auch der neue Profiler umbenannt werden.

Mittels SapControl, welches ein Teil vom SAP-System selbst ist, lassen sich viele Informationen direkt abrufen. Mittels des Sensors "SAP SapControl" lassen sich diese Informationen direkt in die Monitoring-Systeme "PRTG", "ORION" und "WhatUp Gold" einbinden. Hier lassen sich sowohl auf ABAP als auch Java basierende SAP-Systeme ansprechen. Hierzu ist der Profiler ab Version 5.0 erforderlich.
Folgende Schritte sind für das Einbinden der SapControl-Sensoren erforderlich:
- Download des Profilers ab Version 5.0
- Download des Sensors "SAP SapControl" über den Profiler
- Erstellen eines Verzeichnisses für die SapControl-Dateien
- Anpassen Path-Angabe mit Zugriff auf dieses Verzeichnis
- Anlegen Arbeitsverzeichnis "SCWork" auf gleichem Laufwerk
- Testen des Zugriffes auf beliebiges SAP-System z.B. mit dem Befehl
-> "SapControl -host xxx -nr x -user xxx xxx - function GetProcessList"
- Einrichten Profil(e) für die betreffenden SAP-Systeme
- Interaktiver Zugriff auf SAP mit SapControl-Befehlen
- Definieren eines eigenen Sensor für die Verwendung im Monitoring

Für den Sensor "SAP JobFlushs.Exe" stehen ab sofort drei neue Parameter zur Verfügung. Diese erfordern den Profiler ab Version 4.3 und den Sensor ab Version 3.8.
Folgende Parameter werden mit unterstützt:
- ",Hour", Beispiel: J"ob=SD_J*,Hour" - Nur letzte Stunde berücksichtigen
- ",10Min", Beispiel: "Job=SD_J*,10Min" - Nur die letzten 10 Minuten berücksichtigen
- ",5Min", Beispiel: "Job=SD_J*,5Min" - Nur die letzten 5 Minuten berücksichtigen
Die bisherigen Parameter behalten weiterhin ihre Gültigkeit.

Three new parametres are available from now on for the sensor "SAP JobFlushs.Exe". These require the Profiler from version 4.3 and the sensor from version 3.8.

Mit dem Profiler ab Version 4.3 ist es möglich die SAP-Systeme auch über den SAP NET. Connector anzusprechen. Hierbei erfolgt der SAP-Zugriff nicht wie bisher über die LibRfc32.Dll sondern über die DLL's "SapNco.Dll" und "SapNco_Utils.Dll".
Zur Zeit sind nur zwei Sensoren, SysInfo und SysCheck umgestellt und dienen der Funktionsprüfung. Diese Sensoren können noch nicht ins Monitoring integriert werden.
Um die Funktionalität zu testen sind folgende Schritte erforderlich:
- Starten des Profilers mit dem Parameter "/NCo"
- Sensoren "NCo SysInfo" und "NCo SysCheck" per Download einstellen
- Im Verzeichnis sind die Dll's für SapNCo einzustellen
Mit dem Profiler lassen sich die Sensoren direkt starten, auch die Funktionen "Info" und "Check" sollten ausführbar sein.
Hinweis: Die Zugriffsdaten "Username" und "Passwort" sind im Profil jeweils in Großbuchstaben vorzugeben!
Es kann sein dass nach EHP-Updates diverse RZ20-Sensoren nicht mehr funktionieren. Hierzu ist bis dato der beteiligte Sensor zu löschen und neu anzulegen.
Mit dem Profiler Version ab 4.4 wurde hierzu eine Lösung erarbeitet. Nach der Auswahl des SAP-Profils steht die Funktion "Verify" zur Verfügung. Hierbei werden die RZ20-Einträge überprüft und wenn möglich korrigiert. In manchen Fällen ist es möglich dass eine Korrektur automatisiert nicht möglich ist.
Der aktuelle Profiler wird jeweils auf den Downloadseiten zur Verfügung gestellt.
